Augean North Sea Services strengthen relationship with RNLI

Augean North Sea Services (ANSS) have a long history of applying responsible, thorough and sustainable drilling waste management practices to the North Sea’s oil and gas industry.

ANSS relies on a healthy marine and coastal economy in order to continue to operate, and the RNLI is one of the most integral organisations to this sector’s success. RNLI lifeboat crews consist of fearless, highly skilled and incredibly determined volunteers who between them have saved hundreds of thousands of lives at sea.

In 2012, ANSS were given permission by the lifeboat crew at Fraserburgh to use their photos in our company calendar. The calendar, branded with the RNLI logo, was distributed to staff members and ANSS clients, with prompts to donate to RNL Fraserburgh Lifeboat Station. Following the successful calendar campaign, ANSS discovered that one of its staff members was an active member at the RNLI Lerwick Lifeboat Station. The 2013 ANSS calendar thus featured photos from both lifeboat stations. In addition to the donations prompted by the calendar campaign, ANSS donated £200 to each lifeboat crew.

Derek Richardson, Technical Sales Manager at ANSS, hopes that this is just the start of a burgeoning relationship between the two organisations and states that there is a ‘natural synergy’ between ANSS and the RNLI.

‘We already have plans in place for the 2015 calendar. One of our recently recruited offshore engineers is an active member of the Peterhead lifeboat crew, so the ANSS 2015 calendar will feature three boats instead of two – and donations will grow.’
